I can usually be found in my workshop at the bottom of my garden making personal bespoke wooden gifts and garden furniture.
The majority of my gifts will consist of some kind of carving which could be items such as full piercing garden ornaments eg. Tree of life, it could be carving and highlighting with contrasting stain, also carving text or designs and either infilling with coloured resins or inlaid contrasting hardwoods. I have just started 3D carving, keep an eye on the gallery for new designs as they happen.
From as early an age as I can remember I have been fascinated by nature and wildlife, I have also enjoyed photography since my mid teens.
Since my wonderful wife Sue bought me my first professional lens for my 50th birthday, I have been able to combine the 2 loves which has culminated into something much greater than the sum of the 2 parts. Sue did ask "would you get the use out of the lens?" Well to say yes would be an understatement, Sue either regrets buying me the lens as I am now never at home, or it was a cunning ploy....
My career of an electrical and mechanical engineer, has in the past not allowed much time for getting out with my camera, but my current situation now allows this a bit more, and I am loving it, although it is a bit restrictive in the areas I can get to due to being stuck in a wheelchair! .
Based in Folkestone, Kent, I can normally be found on Wednesdays at Samphire Hoe where I am a volunteer ranger in a visitor experience role helping visitors to identify all nature - although i do struggle with plants sometimes. I also carry out bumblebee walks on behalf of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust reporting on species and numbers found.

I post various photos of recent outings, although these can be a bit random and sometimes not of any great quality, just things I come across and find interesting.
